How to create professional clothing photos with AI Fashion Models

High-quality apparel photos = expensive shoots? Not necessarily.
If you want to scale your content quickly and experiment with ideas at a low cost, check out our AI fashion photography studio. Recently updated, this tool preserves the details of your clothing piece and demonstrates its natural fit on 100+ models across all demographics.
In this post, we’ll explain how to generate stunning AI fashion photos with models in Claid and share some tips on how to get the most out of this functionality.
How to create professional fashion photos in Claid
Let’s go through the process of creating campaign-ready AI clothing model photos step by step.
Step 1. Upload your item(s)
In the AI Fashion Model section on the left menu, upload the clothing items you want to feature. You have several options:
- Upload a single item and then choose complementary items or describe the full look
- Upload several items (for instance, a matching set)

💡 Note that you can upload several pictures of the same item to demonstrate the garment from the front and back: this way, AI will fit it more naturally in various poses.
Pro tips for uploading apparel photos:
- Use well-lit photos with a plain or transparent background (you can remove the background in Claid)
- Flatlay and ghost-mannuquin photos will work best with AI clothing models
- Don’t use photos that feature styled items you don’t need (for instance, additional accessories)
- Don’t use photos where your garment is shown partially (so that the length is not clear)
Step 2. Complement the outfit (optional)
When your major product needs to be paired with other items (pants or skirts with tops, or t-shirts and blouses with pants), choose “Add bottoms” or “Add tops” in the menu. Apart from a few suggested options you can try, you can upload any other items.

Pro tips for uploading complementary clothing pieces:
- Similarly to your main item, use high-quality images without anything in the background
- Don’t upload too many pictures: AI fashion model generator can get confused and not preserve all uploaded products correctly
- Be careful with accessories: items like hats and glasses might work, but this functionality is generally not suited for jewelry or complex accessories
- It’s not a necessary step: it might be better to describe your styling choices in a prompt

💡 Note that full-body fashion photos are always generated with shoes. You can upload shoes as complementary items or specify them in the prompt; in other cases, AI will add the matching ones.
If you don’t want an AI model to be wearing shoes (for instance, for swimsuit shots), specify this in the prompt.

💡 If you want to create product photos of footwear, AI Photoshoot might be a better choice.
Step 3. Choose the model and pose
Our upgraded AI fashion studio offers a diverse library of 100+ AI-generated models for fashion, including kids and teenagers. You’ll see the categories “females,” “males,” “kids,” “teens,” and “plus-size.” Each features dozens of models of different races and appearances.

Once you’re set on the model, you’ll have 8 preset poses to choose from (1 medium and 7 full-body shots).
💡 You’re not limited to these poses: you can indicate anything else in the prompt, and the tool will adjust the pose accordingly.

You also have the possibility to upload a photo of your model. All such uploads will be saved under the “My models” tab. For a custom model to work, make sure to:
- Use high-quality full-body photos
- Use photos where models are only wearing underwear / bodysuits
- Use images of real models if you have legal rights and proper consent
Step 4. Write a prompt
As a final step, you can add instructions to guide our AI clothing model generator to the right scene and mood.

💡 This step is optional: without a prompt, you’ll get a picture of your garment on a chosen model in a minimalistic studio. It’s a great way to quickly scale your PDPs with the same-style studio shots.
But if you want more creativity and diversity, use the prompt field to specify your requirements.
- Describe the scene
- Indicate the camera angle and lighting type
- Describe the model’s pose or action
- Specify props if you want any
- Indicate the fit of your product (oversize, bodycon, etc.)

💡 Our AI Photoshoot feature, while not specifically targeted to fashion, can also be helpful in generating lifestyle images or showcasing your clothing pieces without models.

Step 5. Generate images
Our fashion photography tool allows you to generate 1-4 photos for each request. We recommend going for more options so that you have a few slightly different images to choose from.

Each generated image counts toward your AI Fashion Models limits: 150 in the Essential and 500 in the Pro plans. You’ll be able to purchase extra credits if you need more photos.
💡 When you like the result, you can enhance the photo right in Claid or expand it to fit the required dimensions. You can also turn your fashion photos into simple videos.
Scaling fashion photography is no longer a struggle
Fast fashion cycles, high SKU counts, and omnichannel marketing demand a massive volume of product imagery. While traditional photoshoots are slow, expensive, and hard to manage, generation with AI clothing models can help you cover multiple content needs quickly.
- Managing models, photographers, and studios causes delays. With AI models for clothing brands, you can launch new pieces across all platforms according to your best-scenario schedule.
- It’s too costly to shoot every item in different combinations or on diverse models. With our library of AI models, you can cover all your SKUs in minutes.
- Visual quality varies across shoots, affecting consistency. In Claid, you can unify the style and look of your PDPs and catalogs without reshooting.
- Marketplaces have different requirements for on-model shots. With the right AI fashion model generator, you can easily fit all requirements, including image quality, dimensions, model placement, etc.
A lot of fashion brands, especially small and mid-size ones, can’t afford the time or budget to compete with big players. Our AI Fashion Models give you room for endless creativity without big bucks.
Don’t give up real-life shoots once and for all: they are still, and forever will be, a means to capture the brand identity. Just leave them for the essential, brand-defining campaigns, and let AI cover the rest.

FAQ
How does AI fashion photography work?
Claid’s AI Fashion Models use advanced generative AI trained on real-world fashion photography. When you upload a garment (or full outfit), the system fits it onto a chosen AI-generated fashion model and pose, adjusting for fabric flow, garment length, and body shape. You can guide the output further with prompts to control setting, lighting, and style.
What kind of product photos should I upload to get the best results?
To get the most realistic results out of our AI models for clothing, use high-quality flatlay or ghost mannequin images with a plain or transparent background. Avoid partial views, distracting props, or styled looks that include accessories you don’t want in the final image. The cleaner the input, the more realistic and polished the AI result.
Can I upload multiple clothing pieces?
Yes. You can upload a full outfit or separate tops and bottoms. For best results, limit each upload to essential pieces to avoid confusion during generation.
Can I use my own models instead of AI-generated ones?
Yes, if you have legal rights and consent to use their photos. You can use both images of real people and your own AI fashion models for free. Upload a high-quality full-body photo of your model under the “My models” tab.
Can I control the scene and the model’s pose?
Absolutely. You can use prompts to describe the background, lighting, styling, camera angle, model pose, and more. For quick PDP shots, just skip the prompt—and Claid will generate clean studio visuals.
How many images can I generate?
You can generate 1-4 photos for each request. We recommend generating 3-4 options to have more variety to choose from. Each generation counts toward your account limits.
Can I use AI Fashion Models for free?
Yes, you have 10 generations in a free account. You can test all available AI models for clothing.
Can I edit generated fashion photos?
Yes. After generation, you can enhance images, expand them to different sizes, or turn them into short videos by using other Claid’s features.
