Meet AI Edit: Your words now edit your photos

Today, we’re adding a new feature to Claid: AI Edit. It lets you change any image using simple text instructions. You can place a product in a new scene, change its color, add props, or remove distractions. Just describe the edit you want, and our AI brings it to life in seconds. It gives you the creative control of a complex editor through the simplicity of a chat box.

Create the exact product shot you need

AI Edit is designed to help you create any product visual you can imagine, without the need for photoshoots or specialized software.

Create custom lifestyle scenes

Place your product in any context. Instead of searching for the right stock photo, you can create it. For example, take a photo of a skincare bottle and place it in a serene spa setting, complete with a white towel and orchids.

Change product attributes instantly

Show your product in different colors or materials without needing new samples. If you have a photo of a black backpack, you can create realistic versions in five other colors, ready for your online store.

Put your products on models

Turn flat apparel shots into relatable, on-model photos. You can take a dress on a hanger and see what it looks like on a model in a city street setting, creating more engaging images for social media.

Add or remove elements

Fine-tune your existing images. If you have a good photo of your watch, you can add a leather-bound book or other props to build a more sophisticated atmosphere.

How it works

The process is direct and simple. 

1. Upload to AI Edit. Start with any image. It can be a product on a plain background or an existing lifestyle photo.
2. Instruct. Type a command into the prompt box describing exactly what you want to change.
3. Refine. Review the result. From there, you can upscale it for professional use or send it to another Claid tool for further edits.

Prompting tips for better results:

• Be specific. The model is powerful, but it can’t read your mind. Instead of "make the shoe look different," use "change the high-heel shoe to be made of red suede."
• Preserve what matters. If you only want to change the background, say so. Use a phrase like, "Change the background to a marble countertop, keeping the perfume bottle in the exact same position and lighting."
• Work in steps for complex scenes. For a major transformation, start by changing the background. Then, in a second edit, add your props.
• Use quotes for text edits. To change text on a label, put the new text in quotes for precision: "Replace the text 'Super Serum' with 'Hydra-Boost Serum'."

AI Edit in your workflow

The image you create with AI Edit is designed to work seamlessly with Claid's other features.

Because the initial output is a fast, 1-megapixel image, the next step for many will be to increase its size. You can send it directly to our ‘Improve quality’ tool to prepare it for high-resolution displays or print. You can upscale it by a set factor (2x, 4x) or to a custom size.

From there, you can adapt it for any channel. Use Expand Image to change the aspect ratio for social media stories or banners, or turn your new static image into a short video clip with our Image to video tool.

How is AI Edit different from 'AI Backgrounds'?

AI Backgrounds is specialized for one job: placing a product on a new background generated from a text prompt6. AI Edit can do that and much more. It can modify any part of any image, add props, change product colors, place apparel on models, and edit existing scenes, offering far greater creative control.

How is this different from 'Custom AI'?

Custom AI requires you to train a model on 5-20 of your own images to generate new shots. AI Edit works instantly on any image you upload with no training required, making it ideal for fast, unique, one-off visuals.

Why is the output only 1MP?

The underlying AI model is built for speed and editing precision at this resolution. We designed the Claid workflow so you can seamlessly take the 1MP edited image into our Enhance/Upscale tool to enlarge it to any size needed for high-resolution displays or print.

How much does AI Edit cost?

Usage is included in our subscriptions. The monthly generation limits are:

• Free Plan: 2 generations per month.
• Essential Plan: 40 generations per month.
• Pro Plan: 100 generations per month.

Is AI Edit available on the API?

Not at launch. We are evaluating its inclusion in future API updates.
